UDHAMPUR, Oct 13: Six months Diploma Course in Tailoring conducted by Leighton Weslpun Contractors Private Limited under Community Development Programme at Women Empowerment and Vocational Training Centre, Chenani, concluded today.
On the concluding day today, project director, Leighton Weslpun Contractors Private Limited, awarded certificates to all successful candidates and Rs 1000 each to all ladies including the lady teacher and helper for the success.
During the programme, 21 women and girls participated and successfully completed the course. Practical test was also conducted by the independent representative to evaluate the proficiency of the candidates.
While speaking, Project Director, Leighton Weslpun Contractors Private Limited, said that the Company is devoted not only to construct tunnel but also in carrying on dedicated Community Development Projects for the locals residents of surrounding areas.
The Company is providing drinking water supply to the villagers, repairs and renovations of schools buildings and living accommodations of poor people, water storage tanks to Schools, constructions of boundary wall and additional rooms to schools, construction of assembly sheds and community centers, foot paths and running vocational training for women, he added.
