JAMMU, July 8: A deputation of Diploma Engineers Association led by its president R S Jasrotia met the Minister for PHE /I&FC Department, Sham Lal Sharma and discussed with him the burning issues of their cadre.
The Minister was apprised that as per recommendation of the Chief Secretary of J&K State, the Engineering Department vide their No. PW/R&B/Adm/22/2011 dated July 17, 2012 had clarified that in order to maintain cadre strength of diploma engineers at the level of Executive Engineer/ AEE/ AEs, relaxation in experience qualification may be considered on a case to case basis for stop gap arrangement in in-charge capacity.
Association vice president V K Trikha explained to the Minister that numerous posts are lying vacant falling under their cadre and needed to be filled up only out of aspiring diploma engineers for the post of Executive Engineer/ AEE/ AEs.
The Minister while accepting the memorandum of demands with patience assured that justice would be delivered to their cadre.
Others in the deputation were Sunil Sharma, S C Kerni, Kulbir Singh, Romesh Sharma, Deepak Sharma, R P Khajuria etc.
