Dimple protests against Govt move of widening Janipur road

JAMMU, Dec 3: Opposing the Government proposal for widening of the Amphalla- Janipur- High Court road on both sides, Sunil Dimple, president of Jammu West Assembly Movement and Road Action Committee, led a protest of the local traders and residents, here today.
Protesters alleged that on Janipur High Court road, the JMC, PWD (R&B), Police and Traffic Police were harassing the traders, shop keepers and the residents by lifting their goods, vehicles and not taking effective basic step to solve the traffic problems.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple alleged that the Government plan of widening the road twenty feet from both sides would severely effect the livelihood of the five lakh people, running business and living on both sides of this road.
Dimple appealed the Governor to take serious note of the worsening traffic scenario in Jammu city and take effective steps to control this menace by expediting the construction work of circular and ring roads. He also demanded construction of flyovers at Rehari Chungi, Jewal chowk, alternative four way circular road from Amphalla Manda to High Court Janipur to Roop Nagar and starting metro rail, mono rail connecting the Jammu city with adjoining towns.
Dimple announced that the newly formed Road Action Committee will have convenors namely Sweety Kour, Sham Saroop Gupta, Manjiet Anand, Rajinder Bhargav, S Jarnail Singh, Dallep Kumar, Mohider Lichi, Ashwani Nayar, Ajay Mehta, Ashok Sharma, Sachin Soi, Rajesh Tall, Anil Abrol, Jagdish Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Om Parkash, Shiv Kumar, Dallep Kumar, Sahil Gupta, S Gurmeet Singh, Manohar Lal and Jagdeep Singh JD.
