NEW DELHI: Bollywood thespian Dilip Kumar today went down memory lane as he celebrated 50 years of marital bliss with yesteryear’s diva Saira Banu, reminiscing on the beautiful moments of their journey , considered one of the rarest love stories in Bollywood.
As fans, well wishers and celebrities from tinsel town wished the couple many more years of togetherness, Dilip Kumar went down memory lane and shared with his fans some of the lovely moments spent together by him and Saira over the years. He posted on Twitter some rare photographs of him and Saira .
Turning poetic, the thespian, in a series of tweets, expressed his love for her and thanked Saira for her love that had contributed to their 50 years of togetherness.
“A love that stays strong for more than 50 years (is karam ka karoon shukr kaise ada),”Dilip kumar said in a tweet,you’re a daughter of moon, who’s come down from the heavens. (bint-e-mehtab ho garduon se utar aayi ho),”the actor said in another tweet.
”For time rolls by, keep that in mind and love…my beloved in your I find refuge: Rabindranathji Tagore.,”he tweeted. ‘(Taskeen-e-dil-e-mahzoo na hui) .The heart did not find solace until I met you,”he said. In another tweet, he said,”(Kahani ko phir se dohrate hain chalo.) Let’s repeat our story of togetherness.”
On this occasion, Dilip Kumar thanked his fans and well wishers by posting a video capturing some beautiful moments of him and Saira together. ”Saira and I want to thank each one of you from the bottom of our hearts,” he said.
Today is the golden wedding anniversary of Dilip and Saira , who had come together in a bond of marriage on October 11, 1966. At that time, Dilip Kumar, was film industry’s most adored actor, aged 44, while Saira was 22. (AGENCIES)
