UDHAMPUR, Aug 30: Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR), an establishment of DRDO, is engaged in research, development and extension activity in the field of agriculture, horticulture, cold desert flora, poultry and other allied field in Nubra/Shyok valley.
Like every year, this year also DIHAR organised “Ladakh Kisan-Jawan -Vigyan Mela” today at DIHAR detachment Partapur with a view to dessiminate relevant agro-animal technicalities from laboratory to land for the benefit of Jawans and Kisan.
The chief guest for the event was Commander Siachen Brigade and Vice Chancellor of Din Dayal Veterinary and Animal Science University (Mathura) was the guest of honour. Other dignatries present were officers from State administration, executive councilors from LAHDC and Army officers and personnels.
A cultural programme was performed by the children of Army Goodwill School, Partapur and Govt Middle School, Skampuk.
Army weapons and equipments were at display in the mela for the local population under the ‘Know your Army’ banner in which children in particular were seen very thrilled to witness.
