AKHNOOR, Sept 3: In order to review security arrangements for forthcoming Assembly elections, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma visited remote areas of Akhnoor and Chowki Choura, here today.
On the occasion, DIG convened a meeting which was attended by SP Rural Jammu, SDPO Akhnoor, SHO Akhnoor and IC PP Chowki Choura of district Jammu.
DIG interacted Paramilitary forces deployed for security duty and briefed them regarding nature of duty, motivated them for full co-operation from J&K Police.
He also inspected the accommodation arrangements of the Security forces and listen their problems and assured them to fulfill in time bound manner.

The officers were directed to enhance surveillance by maintaining area domination, strengthening nakas and remain extra vigil in the area in view of recent terrorist attacks.
The DIG JSK Range underscored the importance of vigilance on suspicious persons to thwart the evil designs of anti-national elements and maintain a peaceful environment in view of forthcoming Assembly elections.
He also took the stock of Assembly elections preparedness in Remote Polling Station i.e Govt. Higher Secondary School Chowki Choura, covering all aspects.
