KISHTWAR, May 8: DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Sargun Shukla, today chaired a comprehensive crime-cum-security review meeting at District Police Headquarters Kishtwar and reviewed the prevailing security scenario, crime control measures, counter-terror preparedness and progress under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The meeting commenced with a detailed presentation by SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh, highlighting demographic profile and geographical sensitivity of the district, prevailing security scenario in the district, crime trends and law & order situation, anti-militancy measures and operational preparedness and the ongoing anti-drug initiatives under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
Thereafter, Additional SP PC Kishtwar and SDPOs briefed the DIG regarding law and order and security measures in their respective jurisdictions.
The DIG directed officers to ensure timely disposal of cases with special focus on NDPS cases through effective investigation and prosecution.
She stressed strict action against drug traffickers, bovine smugglers, habitual offenders and criminals involved in offences against property and crimes against women and girl children besides directing intensified anti-drug operations, area domination and night patrolling to strengthen the overall security grid and achieve the security targets for 2026.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Kishtwar, SDPOs, Sr. PO, SHOs, IC PPs, Branch Heads of DPO Kishtwar and other officers of District Police Kishtwar.
The DIG appreciated the efforts of District Police Kishtwar and urged the officers to continue working with dedication and coordination to ensure a peaceful and secure environment in the district.
