KISHTWAR, June 13: DIG of Police, DKR Range, Udhayabaskar Billa reviewed security situation in Kishtwar during his week-long extensive tour of the district.
On arrival at DPL Kishtwar on June 8, a Guard of Honour was presented to the DIG and later on during a Darbar of Jawans, the officer listened to the issues raised by the Jawans. Speaking on the occasion, the officer stressed upon the Jawans that general public should be respected while performing COVID duties and no complaints against police should come from the public.
Later on, the officer visited District Police Office Kishtwar, where Shafqat Hussain, SSP Kishtwar, gave a detailed presentation regarding the security scenario of the District and briefed the officer about current situation viz anti-terrorist operations, maintenance of Law & Order, measures taken to eradicate drug menace and implementation of guidelines issued by the Government to contain COVID-19 pandemic in the District.
The open gym site at TRC Kishtwar was also inspected by the Officer and necessary briefing regarding its maintenance was given among the staff. On the next day, the DIG accompanied by SSP Kishtwar inspected route leading towards Sinthan top. He also visited Army establishments and Police components located in the area.
During the week-long tour, the DIG also visited various police stations/posts. He also chaired police-public meetings at various places and reviewed security arrangements of Machail Yatra. Today, on last leg of his tour, the DIG met prominent citizens of Kishtwar town and patiently heared all the issues raised by them.
