RAJOURI, Jan 15: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Rajouri-Poonch Range, Dr Haseeb Mughal, alongwith President Municipal Council Rajouri Mohammad Arif, Vivek Shekar ASP Rajouri and Pushpender Gupta Ward Councillor, inaugurated the renovated Police Chowki at Old Bazaar, Rajouri City today.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Mughal said that the Municipal Council Rajouri is doing appreciable work whether it is sanitation work or other projects under the leadership of Mohd Arif, President of the Municipal Council Rajouri. The project work for the renovation of the Police Chowki is completed under the City Beautification Plan of Rajouri Municipal Council.
DIG said that Police is for security of people and people have to cooperate with the police as without public cooperation it’s difficult to achieve anything. He added that police is working 24×7 for the safety and security of the people.
While addressing the media, Mohd Arif, President of Municipal Council Rajouri, explained that Municipal Council Rajouri has already taken many projects under the City Beautification Programme and has started various developmental projects for the maintenance of all such locations, which are not only attractive but also scenic. He said, this beautification project is approved under the Beautification Development Plan of Rajouri, which is approved for the financial year 2022-23.
He further said that it was a long-pending demand of the people of Rajouri for the repair and renovation of City Chowki, which is very important from a security point of view. “It is a priority in the development process of Rajouri town to preserve the historical entities and the old monuments,” he added.
The inauguration programme was also attended by Chowki officer, Mohammad Qayoom, prominent citizens among Rajinder Singh, Deepak Kumar, Sushil Sharma, Amish Malhotra and many others.
