DIG for enhancing security set up to curb ANEs

SAMBA, Nov 28: In order to check status of criminal cases registered in the district, to ensure implementation of directions imparted from time to time, to discuss present security setup as well as to sensitize all the territorial officers of District Police Samba to alert the Police force deployed on the border,  Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba Range, today conducted a meeting with all the SDPOs/SHOs of District Samba in the office of SSP Samba which was also attended by Joginder Singh, SSP Samba.
During the meeting, crime figures of all the police stations of district Samba were discussed with special focus on reasons for pendency of under investigation cases, modus operandi in theft cases, Motor vehicle cases and steps to reduce accidental cases. DIG JSK Range, imparted necessary instructions for maintaining Police-Public relations, for enhancing security set up to effectively deal with ANEs in befitting manner, for effectively handling the Law & order situations as well as also take regular stock of the crime figures/security situation.
DIG Jammu emphasized to focus on tracking all social evils with iron hands including drug mafia/abuse. Stress was also given to ensure that Border Police Posts and Police Nakas established in border areas, remain alert to thwart infiltration bids keeping in view the present security scenario and upcoming foggy season. All the Police officers were directed to ensure optimum use of preventive measures to curb the crime in its bud and to take stern action against bovine smugglers which severely hurts the sentiments of particular community.
