Jammu, May 13: Deputy Inspector General of Police, DKR Range Shridhar Patil today chaired a meeting at District Police Office Ramban to review the security arrangements put in place for the smooth and safe movement of troops inducted/de-inducted for LOK Sabha elections.
The meeting was attended by SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar, ADC Ramban Varunjeet Charak, Col Abhishek Singh,Project Director NHAI Parshotam Kumar and officers of CRPF, BEACON and traffic police.
The DIG stressed upon the officers present in the meeting to maintain close coordination with each other and counterpart districts/battalions for ensuring route security and to meticulously monitor movements. He emphasized upon officers to put special focus on sensitive locations and lodgment centers while putting in place the security arrangements.
“Upper reaches and ridges along the NHW be dominated and deployment of army be put in place he stressed. Focus should be given timely placing of ROPs, additional QRTs and placing of additional check points at strategic places”, Patil said.
SSP Ramban, PD NHAI and DySP traffic were directed to identify the black spots on roads where repeated accidents have taken place and repair work on those locations be made at an earliest to avoid accidents.
He directed for strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including guidelines for safe movement of security personnel and public.
