DIG CRPF office gutted, fireman injured in Srinagar fire

SRINAGAR:  Office of the Deputy Inspector General Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was gutted and a fireman was injured in a fire incident in the summer capital, Srinagar.

Official sources here today said the blaze broke out in the DIG CRPF office at Karan Nagar, about 2 km from historic Lal Chowk, in the city.

Fire tenders from different parts of the district were rushed to douse off the leaping flames, clearly visible for a distance.

However, before the inferno was brought under control, the three-storeyed building was completely damaged.

A fireman, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, was injured while dousing off the flames, they said, adding he was immediately taken to a hospital.

They said the cause of the fire was not immediately known. (AGENCIES)
