JAMMU, Jan 12: Different organizations here today organized programmes to celebrate National Youth Day.
IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu celebrated National Youth Day and organized an interactive session in this regard with learners of the Regional Centre at the Regional Centre Jammu. The learners shared their respective views about the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Dr. Asha Upadhyay, Regional Director In-charge and Assistant Regional Directors, Dr. Sandeep Gupta and Dr. Vikram Singh were also present on the occasion.
To commemorate Swami Vivekananda Ji’s birth anniversary as National Youth Day, the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu in coordination with Campus Cultural Committee and Students Cultural Council organized programmes in the Campus. Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu was chief guest while Prof. Meena Sharma, Dean Planning and Development, University of Jammu, presided over the function. Earlier, in welcome address, Prof. Monika Chadha, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee said that National Youth Day encourages the youth for constructive works.
The Department of Educational Studies, in collaboration with the Office of the Dean of Students Welfare, Central University of Jammu, celebrated National Youth Day on the occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Various cultural and literary activities such as debate, dance, song, fashion show etc will be conducted in the coming weeks of January in this regard. In inaugural address Registrar, Prof. Yashwant Singh talked about the influence of Swami Vivekananda in shaping aspirations and values of Indian youth.
Department of Zoology, Cluster University of Jammu, celebrated National Youth Day with the theme ‘Arise, Awake and Realise the Power You Hold.’ Speaking on the occasion Prof. Satinder Kaur, Dean Research Studies and Coordinator highlighted the view that India being youngest country has potential for excellence through youth force for individual and national empowerment and making India an empowered nation.
The Dean Student Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu celebrated National Youth Day with great fervor by organizing a symposium on ‘The life and Philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.’ Speaking on the occasion Prof. G.S Rakwal, Principal MAM College advised the students to embrace the values of fearlessness, self-confidence and service to society, which are at the core of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings.
The National Youth Day was also celebrated in the Government College of Education (GCoE) Jammu under the patronage of Officiating Principal Prof Satish Sharma.
On the occasion, rally was organized by the NSS volunteers, slogan writing competition was held. Students and NSS volunteers performed traditional dances. The Officiating Principal, while speaking on the occasion, threw light on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
The events were organized by NSS Unit, Red Ribbon Club and IIC. Prof Sunanda, Dr Shubhra Jamwal, Prof Sarita Dogra, Prof Kiran Thappa and Prof Sonam were among faculty members who were present on the occasion.
NSS Units of GGM Science College celebrated National Youth Day and organized a symposium. A notable highlight of the event was live streaming by the Prime Minister, showcasing the national significance of this celebration. Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the College highlighted the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
NSS Units, Youth Club and Shikshit Bharat Committee under the aegis of Viksit Bharat and IQAC of Govt SPMR College of Commerce organized a Swachta Abhiyan and live telecast of PM’s speech. Principal of the College, Dr. Surinder Kumar Sharma said that thoughts of ‘Swami Vivekananda emphasized on furthering harmony and compassion among the people.
Red Ribbon Club of Govt. Degree College Paloura celebrated National Youth Day to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda under the guidance of Prof. Ashu Vashisht, Principal of the College. A one minute speech competition on National Youth Day on the theme ‘Arise Awake and Realise the Power You Hold’ was organized. Live telecast of Prime Minister’s address on National Youth Festival was also watched by the gathering.
NSS Unit of Government Degree College Sidhra in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club organized different activities to celebrate National Youth Day 2024 with an aim to enlighten the youth through the teachings and ideology of Swami Vivekananda. The programme was organized under the guidance of Principal, Dr. B.B Anand.
NSS Unit in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club of Dogra Degree College organized a live telecast of inaugural session of 27th National Youth Festival with an address by PM Modi to mark Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. Principal of the College, Dr. Bela Thakur talked about social responsibility of the youth.
The NCC and NSS units of Govt Degree College Udhampur under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal organized live screening of PM Modi’s address on 27th National Youth Day.
NSS Unit of GDC Mahanpur and Red Ribbon Club under the guidance of Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College celebrated Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. The contributions of Swami Vivekananda were lauded and the students paid him floral tributes.
NSS volunteers and students of GDC, Marheen watched the live telecast of speech by PM Modi’s on National Youth Day. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Anupama Gupta, Principal of the College.
Red Ribbon Club of GDC Marheen paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda and celebrated National Youth Day. Symposium and poetry competitions were organized on this occasion.
The Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with NSS Unit of Government Degree College Dharmari organized painting and poster making competition along with group discussion and live telecast of Prime Minister’s speech on National Youth Day. The event was conducted under overall guidance of Principal, Dr. Preetpal Kour.
On the occasion of National Youth Day, NSS Unit in collaboration with Eco (Yuva) Club of Govt. Degree College R.S Pura organized live telecast of PM Modi’s speech under the guidance of Principal of the College, Dr. Rajni Bhagat. A guest lecture cum symposium was also organized on the topic ‘Swami Vivekananda’s Teachings on youth, Leadership Education and Character, Building.’
NSS and NCC units of GDC Kathua celebrated National Youth Day under the guidance of Principal of the College, Prof. Seema Mir. Tribute were paid to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary.
NSS Unit of GDCW Kathua celebrated National Youth Day. Dr. Ritu Kumar Sharma, NSS Program Officer, delivered lecture on the life and history of Swami Vivekananda. The Red Ribbon Club paid floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda. The programme was held under the supervision of Dr. Savi Behl, Principal of the College.
NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur organized a live telecast of PM’s speech to the youth of the country which inspired the students greatly. Prof. Ritu Bhagat, Coordinator NSS while addressing the NSS volunteers stated that National Youth Day is observed in India every year to honour the teachings and ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
On National Youth Day the Red Ribbon Club of Govt. Degree College Vijaypur in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society organized a poster making competition under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Vandana Gupta.
Govt Degree College Darhal celebrated National Youth Day on the theme ‘Arise, Awake, and Realise the Power You Hold’. The event witnessed active participation from students of all semesters, as well as the faculty. A painting and face painting competition was held allowing students to showcase their artistic skills. Live telecast of speech by the Prime Minister was also organized. Entire programme was held under the guidance of College Principal, Prof. Musaraf Shah.
Bhargava College of Education, Samba celebrated National Youth Day. Dr. Rajesh Sharma and Subash Balgotra, Principal of Bhargava Public School were special guests on this occasion. Speakers threw light on the contributions of Swami Vivekananda in the field of education.
Red Ribbon Club of GDC Jourian under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Anuradha Pandoh organized a slogan writing competition on the theme ‘Role of Youth in Nation Building’. Large number of students participated in the competition.
Viksit Bharat Committee of SPPND GDC Samba in collaboration with Department of History from the College organized a symposium on National Youth Day to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the College enlightened the students about the importance of Vivekananda’s philosophy.
GDC Ramgarh celebrated National Youth Day by organizing live telecast of Prime Minister’s speech. The event was organized under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College. A symposium on ‘Ideology of Swami Vivekananda’ was also organized.
GDC Thanamandi celebrated National Youth Day under the guidance of Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmed who described the day as dedicated to inspiring young minds, promoting education and encouraging community services.
Rashtriya Yuva Diwas was celebrated by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu University Unit in collaboration with Vidyarthi CEVA Educational Trust to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The chief guest on this occasion was Dr. Neelu Rohmetra (DRS, Jammu University) and distinguished guest was Dr. Lokendra Singh, State vice president ABVP J&K. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Neelu Rohmetra discussed the way Swami Vivekananda inspired the youth for the nation. She also said that PM Modi has always encouraged young people to represent India abroad.
ABVP J&K celebrated National Youth Day with Jammu Mahanagar ABVP Unit organizing a programme dedicated to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary. The chief guest was Suneet Kumar Raina, Director of Shree Institute of Education who talked about the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
ABVP Agriculture University Jammu Unit celebrated National Youth Day by organizing programmes like declamation and poster making competitions. Vice Chancellor Cluster University Jammu, Prof. Bechan Lal, was chief guest while guest of honour was Prof. B.N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu. The chief guest addressed the audience with a message of rich Indian culture.
BJYM J&K under the leadership of Arun Prabhat, State president and Abhishek Slathia, general secretary celebrated birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The BJYM leaders paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda.
Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu, celebrated National Youth Day, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as culmination of inter school talent hunt programme started in December 2023. SSP Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma; SDPO Domana, Vishal Shoor and Joint Director Tourism, Sunaina Sharma Mehta were special guests.
On National Youth Day an impressive programme was organized at Lakhri in Billawar in which Additional Deputy Commissioner Billawar, Vinay Khosla was chief guest and DDC member Narayan Dutt was guest of honour. Number of Youth Clubs associated with Nehru Yuva Kendra participated in awareness rally organized on the occasion. Arrangement for listening live message of PM Modi was also put in place.
District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar, joined hands with NGO White Globe to celebrate National Youth Day at Nitians Career Institute, Hawal, Srinagar in collaboration with various stakeholders. Jahangir Ahmad Bakshi, Secretary DLSA, Srinagar; Syed Junaid Sadaat, Chairman White Globe, NGO and others underscored the pivotal role of youth in shaping the destiny of the nation.
To celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan staged Musical Play ‘Sab Ke Swami.’
