JAMMU, Sept 4: Different educational institutions here today celebrated Teachers Day in a traditional way.
NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC), R.S Pura celebrated Teachers Day under the supervision of Principal, Dr. G.S Rakwal and Prof. Bindu Kumari, NSS Programme Officer. NSS volunteers made beautiful cards and presented these to the Principal and teachers. Sweets were also distributed among staff and students and the Principal talked on teacher-student relation.
Teachers Day was celebrated with fervor at GDC Bishnah. The programme started with lightening of the traditional lamp by the Principal, Dr. Anuradha Pandoh who extended best wishes to the students for prosperous future. Various cultural activities were organized by the students. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. Shivani Raina.
R.M Public School celebrated Teachers Day in school premises. School Chairman Rameshwar Mengi; Director, Rakshan Mengi along with Principal of Commerce College Jammu, Ranjit Singh Jamwal attended the function as a special guest. Also present on the occasion were teachers from Shiksha Niketan Jeevan Nagar, Shiksha Niketan Gandhi Nagar and Pushp Vatika Jeevan Nagar. The programme started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and paying tributes to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan by the chief guest. The programme was hosted by Poonam Manhas and Rajni Sharma. The Chairman Rameshwar Mengi reminded everyone that teachers are the backbone of society and play a great role in building character of students and shaping them to become an ideal citizen of India. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Shilpa.
On birth anniversary of India’s first Vice-President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a respected philosopher and a great teacher, Sunrise Educational Trust celebrated Teachers Day. Trust founder Manpreet Kour was the chief guest and Asha Rani, a dedicated teacher Sunrise Public School hosted the event. Rajesh Sharma, Founder Trustee of the School extended Teachers Day wishes to students and their family members present there. He urged the parents to take keen interest in their wards. Virender Kumar, Coordinator along with Teachers-Jyoti Bala, Asha Rani, Sakshi Gupta, Sonu Sharma, Pinki Kumari and Nisha Devi were also present on the occasion.
