Dialysis services started in DH Poonch

POONCH, July 1: A Dialysis Centre was inaugurated today at Raja Sukdev Singh District Hospital Poonch in a simple but impressive ceremony, by Rahul Yadav District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch.
Dr Mumtaz Bhatti CMO Poonch, Dr Shamim Bhatti, MS Poonch and prominent citizens of the town were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, DDC appealed to the distinguished guests and the public present in the function to disseminate the information about this facility and encourage the people to seek the services. Three patients availed the dialysis services on 1st day.
The cost of each Dialysis session for APL patients has been fixed at Rs 950, however it will be free for BPL patients, the cost of which shall be reimbursed by NHM, J&K.
It is pertinent to mention that the State Government has made 13 such dialysis centres operational in the State. They are at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu, DH Doda, DH Kathua, DH Poonch, DH Rajouri and DH Udhampur in Jammu Division and DH Anantnag, DH Baramulla, DH Kargil, DH Leh, DH Pulwama, DH Kulgam and JLNM Hospital Srinagar in Kashmir Division.
The work on remaining two dialysis centres at DH Kishtwar and DH Kupwara is going on in full swing and are expected to be operational by ending July 2019.
