SRINAGAR, Jan 18: A week after an infant died due to an alleged medical negligence at a private hospital, the Director of Health Services Kashmir has sought a preliminary report from the concerned Chief Medical Officer.
On January 11, a new born baby died due to alleged medical negligence at Sheikh-ul-Aalam private hospital in Srinagar. However, doctors said that the baby died due to cardiac arrest. Subsequently, the family had appealed the higher-ups to act against the doctors and look into the matter.
However, it took them a week to take cognisance of the issue and initiate action. “We have sought a preliminary report from the concerned CMO,” Director Health Department, Sameer Matto told Excelsior.
Reacting to the directions the Chief Medical Officer has in turn sought report from the private hospital.”I have asked them to come up with a report and I am likely to get it by evening,” she said.
