DHSK organizes Annual Orthopaedic Conference

SRINAGAR, Feb 26: Academic Committee of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir organized one day annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on Orthopaedics at District Hospital Baramulla.
Scientific papers were presented by reputed orthopedicians of the Valley which included current and retired faculty members of the Valley & consultants from peripheral hospitals. Specialties from other branches also presented their papers.
The theme of the CME was to disseminate and enhance the medical and surgical skills of the orthopedicians so that better health care is provided at the peripheral institutes.
On the occasion two life time achievement awards were given posthumously to Prof. Farooq Ashai, former Head of Department of Orthopedics, GMC and to Dr Abdul Qayoom Fakhtoo former Deputy Director, DHSK for their respective roles in the field of Health Care Services.
The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and Talat Parvez, Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla who was the guest of Honour on the occasion.
Rehman on the occasion briefed the health personnel to upgrade the quantum of awareness among the masses about H1N1 and simultaneously screen patients as per the protocol.
