Dheman, Kaul conferred Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Amateur Journalist Awards

JAMMU, Oct 8: An impressive function was organized today to confer the Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Amateur Journalist Awards today.
This year, the awards have been given to Brigadier Vijay Sagar Dheman and Mahesh Kaul for their valuable contribution in the field of amateur journalism.
Chief Justice (Retd) High Court Parmod Kohli was the chief guest on the occasion and former Chief Secretary Vijay Bakaya chaired the function.
The two awardees were adorned with a shawl and presented with mementos by the guests on the dais. The citations of the awardees were read by Subhash Chatta and Chaman Lal Pandita. Citations narrating the contributions of the awardees were also presented to them in framed manner.
Virender Raina, President Panun Kashmir gave an overview of the Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust and its contributions in furthering the cause of the community. He said that the edifice of the PNBM Trust is based on the supreme sacrifice of Prem Nath Bhat who fell to the assassins bullets on 27th December 1989 in Anantnag Kashmir. The Trust played a vital role in furthering the cause of the community by way of organizing the Annual Chetna Diwas function and Amateur Journalist Award. PNBM Trust has also played a key role in spearheading the Temples and Shrines Bill for the protection of the temples in Kashmir, he added.
Justice Pramod Kohli in his address complimented the organisors for promoting the cause of Amateur Journalism. He has special praise for the PNBM Trust for promoting right values of nationalism in the society.
Vijay Bakaya in his address congratulated the awardees and exhorted them to work with renewed zeal to present the nationalist opinion before the countrymen. He told the awardee journalists to stand with the truth.
Secretary of the Trust Sundri Lal presented the welcome address and Chairman of the trust Bansi Lal Zar presented the vote of thanks. Saraswati Vandana was also sung by Aastha Zar and flower tribute were also offered to the portrait of Pt Prem Nath Bhat on the occasion.
