JAMMU, Aug 12: Dharminder Singh Manhas, Sarpanch Keran has been nominated as president of Bhalwal Block Sarpanches Association.
In a joint conference by Sarpanches of different Panchayats from Block Bhalwal, Sarpanch Keran Bantalab, Dharminder Singh Manhas was inducted as president of the Association.
Manhas, newly nominated president of Sarpanches Association of Block Bhalwal extended gratitude to all the Sarpanches and Panches of his Block and promised them that he will work for the betterment of the society and whole block. He assured his all possible help to the Sarpanches at every situation.
He further added that Block Bhalwal remained discriminated at every sphere by administration and there are so many problems being faced by locals of the Block. He said over 90% of the area of this Block is un-irrigated and therefore there is so many problems faced by people of water crisis and there is no such arrangement being made by administration to fight with this situation as no new ponds were constructed, tube wells constructed for the public.
Manhas added that Sarpanches were elected by the locals and through proper elections but now in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Central Govt declared many times that full powers will be given to Sarpanches and Panches but ground reality is that no powers have been given to the Panches – Sarpanches. They are not taken into confidence by BDO office staff while making plans.
Meanwhile, Kuljeet Singh Jamwal was nominated as senior vice president, Vikram Sharma as vice president, Naresh Jamwal as general secretary, Rajni Devi as secretary, Hari Saran as secretary, Pawan Singh Salathia media secretary, Joginder Singh Langeh as cashier.
Others who were present on the occasion included Naseeb Singh, Aman Banotra, Rekha Rani, Er. Pallavi Verma, Naseem Fatima, Dr Shallu Sharma, Mohd Amin, Jaswant Singh, Rekha Devi, Santosh Kumari and many others.
