Dharmarth Trust rejects malicious allegations

JAMMU, Dec 2: Rejecting out rightly the allegations leveled against Dharmarth Trust (DT), spokesperson of the Trust Sahil Verma said that certain unscrupulous entities are trying to malign the image of this age old institution having a history of preserving and promoting rich Dogra culture, just to satiate their vested interests.
In a statement issued here, Verma said it is unfortunate that people having ill intentions are accusing Dharmarth Trust of distrustful acts. He said that individuals having dubious credibility and ulterior motives are misguiding people of the UT J&K against Dharmarth Trust by making concocted stories and leveling baseless accusations.
The spokesperson said that there has been a drastic decline of offerings and income from the different sources since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic from March 2020 onwards. Yet, the Dharmarth Trust has managed to pay salaries to its staff deployed in temples and units across the State.
“Despite the financial loss and challenges being faced by the Trust for over seven months, the Trust Management on September 14 had revoked policy of 25% pay cut (implemented from July 1 onwards) and furthermore, no employees were terminated,” he asserted.
The spokesperson said that from October to November, a certain group of employees began agitating and proposing unreasonable demands even to the extent of defaming the Trust with false and baseless allegations, following which the Trust suspended its five employees responsible for the unfortunate events instigating other employees of the Trust.
He said that the Trust Management is always prepared for a dialogue with its employees to address issues. “However, it will not allow such issues to be hijacked by a handful of disgruntled ex-employees,” he asserted.
