JAMMU, Mar 9: J&K Dharmarth Trust today celebrated 91st birthday of Dr Karan Singh, former Member Parliament and Chairman Trustee of the Dharmarth Trust with great enthusiasm.
In this connection, a function was organised by the Trust in which highly Sanskrit learned priests of the Trust performed Hawan and arranged special prayers for the long and healthy life of Dr Karan Singh in the premises of Shree Raghunathji Temple.
On the occasion, Advocate Ajay Gandotra, President of the Trust; Dr Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma, Secretary; Dr Shiv Prasad Raina, Chairman of J&K Dharmarth Trust Advisory Committee, participated in the Pooja and offered Aahutis in the Hawan. Later, Prasad was also distributed among the participants.
Earlier, President Ajay Gandotra along with Dr Shiv Prasad Raina and Dr Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma paid obeisance at historical Shri Raghunathji Temple and prayed for the longevity of Dr Karan Singh and also prayed for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. They also inaugurated the Prasad Counter in the temple premises for the visiting devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shiv Prasad Raina said that it is really a blessing for the people of J&K that a philanthropic personality like Dr Karan Singh is leading over 100 years old Dharmarth Trust with ultimate dynamism and vibrancy.
Advocate Ajay Gandotra also prayed for the longevity of scion of the Royal Family of erstwhile Kingdom of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that under the realms of Dr Karan Singh, Dharmarth Trust has been flourishing as never before. He asserted that his vast experience as a seasoned politician, elite scholar and dexterous ambassador is an asset for the people of J&K and even the country and being the Chairman Trustee of the Dharmarth Trust, his valuable suggestions always inspire the institution to act meaningfully in serving the interests of the people socially, financially and of course spiritually.
The Trust’s President also appealed to the staff and Pujaris of Shree Raghunath ji Temple to upkeep the temple in exemplary manner so that good message goes to the people of the country through pilgrims visiting the Raghunath ji Temple.
Meanwhile, J&K National Panthers Party and some other organizations also celebrated Dr Karan Singh’s birthday and prayed for his long life.
