DGP visits PCR, reviews its working

SRINAGAR, May 2: Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar today visited Police Control Room Jammu and took stock of the working of different sections. He inspected different working units including communication network and CCTNS monitoring.
Mr. Rajendra during his inspection enquired about the working of dial 100 and the response of concerned officers. He asked for coordinated efforts among the agencies to make the communication network more fruitful. He said that CCTNS monitoring should be improved to achieve desired results from the technology.
Stressing for quick response on the enquiries and complaints received from the people, the DGP said that PCR is a coordinating agency which ensures liaison among different establishment and units, besides civil administration, to provide better services to the people. He said that communication system in PCRs has been modernized and some latest services introduced to bring changes in the working. The services including SMS and TMS needs to be utilized properly to keep the people aware about situations round the clock. These services have been proving fruitful in coordinating among different agencies while operations, he said.
Mr. Rajendra emphasized upon the officers for proper deployment of squads in different areas of the city to keep vigil on the situations and respond accordingly. He said that PCR squads deployed on different routes have been performing well and the people are appreciating their efforts in tackling the situations.
The DGP also inspected ongoing constructions in PCR and sought reports about the utilization of these under execution constructions. SSP PCR Ashok Kumar briefed the DGP about the working of PCR.
Later, the DGP accompanied by ADGP (Headquarters) SP Vaid and Managing Director PHC, Dilbag Singh visited Gulshan Ground and took stock of construction works. He asked the executing agencies to complete the constructions within the time frame, besides ensuring quality material.
Among others, the DGP was accompanied by IGPs, HK Lohia, MS Salaria, MA Khan, Danish Rana, Jagit Kumar, SA Watali and JP Singh, DIG, Jammu Range, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, SE PHC, Sudhir Kumar Shah, Exn: PHC, AR Lone, Exn. PCD, Rashid Mustafa and other police officers.
