DGP sanctions welfare relief of Rs 4.50 lakh for retired cops

JAMMU, Feb 24: Jammu and Kashmir Police is continuously focusing on the welfare of its serving and retired personnel and their families. Different schemes have been introduced under the umbrella of Central Police Welfare Fund (CPWF) to help the police personnel who are in need of financial assistance for self-treatment or of dependents, self-marriage or marriage, higher education of their children and some religious obligations. These schemes are reviewed from time to time to make them more employees friendly.
As a part of this endeavour, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh today sanctioned welfare relief in favour of 20 retired police personnel. Welfare relief has also been granted to 20y needy personnel. The amount has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.
As per the PHQ order No. 782 of 2020 dated 24.02.2020 welfare relief of Rs 4,50,000/- has been sanctioned in favour of 20 retired police personnel. Welfare relief has been sanctioned for the retired police personnel to meet the expenses like self-treatment, treatment of spouse, children and marriage of wards.
Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, welfare loan / relief for police personnel, wards of martyred and serving Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.
