DGP sanctions welfare relief, loan, financial assistance

JAMMU, Jan 7: Continuing with its endeavour to look after the welfare of families of martyr, deceased police personnel and SPOs besides serving police personnel and SPOs, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 67 lakh special welfare relief and financial assistance in favour of NoKs of martyr and deceased police personnel. He also sanctioned a welfare loan of Rs 3 lakh in favour of serving police personnel for his treatment.
Special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of legal heirs of three deceased police personnel including SI Mohammad Zafarulla, ASI Nissar Ahmad Qureshi and HC (Tel) Pawan Sharma who have passed away due to illness or natural death. The special welfare relief has been sanctioned out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
Rupees one lakh each in advance was provided to the NoKs of these deceased personnel for performing the last rites as immediate relief through their concerned DDOs.
Financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh has been sanctioned out of J&K Police Pariwar fund in favour of a widow of martyr in connection with treatment of her son and also to ease up financial distress.
Welfare loan of Rs 3 lakh has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare fund in favour of one serving police personnel to meet the expenses in connection with his treatment, who is suffering from chronic disease.
