DGP sanctions scholarship to 34 wards of police personnel

JAMMU, Dec 19: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh today sanctioned Rs 2,29,600 in favour of 34 wards of police personnel as scholarship out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
DGP has granted scholarship in favour of 34 meritorious wards of police personnel of class 10th, class 12th and graduation and post graduation during the academic session 2017-18. The scholarship of Rs 2.30 lakh has been granted out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
Besides, Rs 6000 each has been granted to 15 meritorious wards for securing above 90 per cent marks in 10th class and above 80 per cent in 12th class. Rs 4000 each has been granted to 10 meritorious wards for securing 80 per cent and above marks. Rs 18000 has been granted to one ward for securing above 90 per cent in MTech, Rs.12000 to four wards for securing above 80 per cent in post graduation, Rs 8500 to two wards for securing above 80 per cent in graduation and Rs 5000 to one ward for securing above 70 per cent in graduation.
Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships and rewards for wards of martyred and serving police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.
