DGP sanctions scholarship in favour of wards of martyr, deceased cops

JAMMU, Feb 20: Continuing with its effort to encourage and boost the morale of the wards and to assist them financially, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned scholarships of over Rs 2.50 lakh in favour of 38 wards of martyred and deceased police personnel for the Academic session 2019-2020.
Over Rs 2.50 lakh has been sanctioned for 38 wards of martyred and deceased police personnel for the Academic session 2019-2020 who are reading in different classes or perusing different degrees. Rupees 2400 has been sanctioned in favour of those wards who are pursuing Primary education and rupees 6000 has been sanctioned in favour of those wards who pursuing Secondary education. While as rupees 10000 and rupees 12000 has been sanctioned in favour of those wards who are pursuing higher education.
The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund. Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, welfare loan/ relief for police personnel, wards of martyred and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.
