DGP sanctions scholarship for wards of serving police personnel, martyrs

JAMMU, Dec 21: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has granted meritorious scholarship of over Rs 1.78 lakh in favour of 31 wards of serving police personnel.
He also sanctioned scholarship in favour of wards of SPO martyrs, pursuing education in different classes.
The meritorious scholarship has been sanctioned in favour of 28 wards of police personnel for their brilliant performance in the annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2018-19. Rs 6,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of fourteen wards of personnel for securing above 90% and Rs 4,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 14 wards for securing over 80% marks in the examination.
Rs 18,000 has been sanctioned in favour of Aqib Nazir Mir son of HC Nazir Ahmad for securing over 91% marks in M Tech and Rs 12000 has been sanctioned in favour of Hemani Sharma daughter of HC Chanchal Kumar for securing above 89 % marks in MA. Similarly, Rs 8,500 has been sanctioned in favour of Shalni Pandita daughter of HC Chuni Lal Pandita for securing over 85% marks in BSc.
Meanwhile, DGP sanctioned scholarship of Rs 44.4 thousand in favour of six wards of SPO martyrs. Rs 10,000 and Rs 6,000 were sanctioned in favour of Mohit Singh and Rohit Singh respectively, both sons of Martyr Pardeep Singh. Rs 22,000 have been sanctioned in favour of Shazia, Ishrat Mushtaq and Rifit Mushtaq wards of Martyr SPO Mushtaq Ahmad. Similarly, Rs 2,400 has been sanctioned in favour of Amir Hanief son of Martyr SPO Mohammad Hanief.
The meritorious scholarships have been granted out of the Central Police Welfare Fund and Scholarship for the wards of SPO martyrs has been sanctioned out of Police Pariwar Fund. PHQ has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards and financial assistance under different heads for the wards of martyred and serving police personnel to boost their morale.
