DGP sanctions scholarship for wards of serving, martyred police personnel

JAMMU, Feb 7: To boost the morale and instill competitiveness among the wards of serving police personnel, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarship of over Rs 1.63 lakh in favour of 25 wards of serving police personnel. He has also sanctioned scholarship of over Rs 1.08 lakh in favour of thirteen wards of martyred police personnel.
Meritorious scholarship of Rs 12000 each has been sanctioned in favour of two wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the annual examination of post graduation during the academic session 2020-21. Similarly, Rs 8500 each has been sanctioned in favour of seven wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the annual examination for graduation. The scholarship is sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
Meritorious scholarship of Rs 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of eight wards of serving police personnel who have secured 90% and above marks in the annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2020-21. Similarly, Rs 4000 each has been sanctioned in favour of eight wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the annual examination of 10th class. The scholarship is sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
Meanwhile, the DGP has sanctioned scholarship for thirteen wards of police martyrs who had laid down their lives in terrorism related incidents. Rupees 15000 each have been sanctioned in favour of two wards who are persuing doctorate and M.Tech. degrees. Similarly Rs 12000 each have been sanctioned in favour of five wards of martyrs who are pursing Bachelor’s degree. Rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of four wards of martyrs studying in middle and secondary classes while Rs 2400 each has been sanctioned in favour of two wards who are studying in primary classes.
