DGP sanctions scholarship for wards of Police martyrs

JAMMU, Nov 21: Continuing with its endeavour to boost the morale and assist the wards of those police personnel who sacrificed their lives while safeguarding the interests of people, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned scholarship of over Rs 3.6 lakh in favour of 44 school going wards for the accademic year 2019-2020 today.
Rupees twelve thousand has been sanctioned in favour of Mulim Farooq who is pursuing BTech and Rs 10,000 each have been sanctioned in favour of twenty eight wards of martyr police personnel who are pursuing their studies in class 11th, 12th and Bachelor’s Degree. Similarly Rs 6,000 each have been sanctioned in favour of 10 wards studying in different classes from 7th to 10th. Rupees two thousand and four hundred have been sanctioned in favour of four wards studying in primary classes.
The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Education Fund. The scholarships are granted round the year for the school/college going wards of police martyrs to provide them assistance in pursuing education.
