DGP sanctions relief for retired cops, kin of deceased

SRINAGAR, July 22: To meet the expenses of medical treatment of self, spouse or children or to repair house or perform marriage of daughters etc, the DGP Dilbag Singh today sanctioned an amount of Rs 4.84 lakh as welfare relief to 29 retired police personnel and kins of 11 deceased personnel.
The relief has been sanctioned from Retired Policemen  Welfare Fund.
A handout stated that Rs 3 lakh and 16,000 has been sanctioned in favour of 25 retired cops and kins of deceased cops for self treatment or treatment of dependents suffering from different kind of diseases.
Rs one lakh and 33,000 has also been sanctioned in favour of 12 families to meet the expenses of their daughters’ marriage.
Likewise three persons who are in distress have been provided monetary help to meet their expenses of urgent nature.
The handout further stated that PHQ has been working for the welfare of retired cops and their families while ‘Martyrs/ Retired Police Assistance Cells’ have been constituted at all districts and unit levels to resolve the issues related to the families of police martyrs and retired police personnel and is supervised by a gazetted officer with one non-gazetted officer and two lower subordinates as its members.
