SRINAGAR: Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police K Rajendra Kumar today reviewed the security arrangements and deployment of personnel for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra at a meeting here.
“Night domination and Nakas by the joint forces with a close vigil on the suspicious elements should be ensured in the areas including the national highway and border areas to foil any attempt by the anti-national elements (to disrupt the yatra),” Kumar said addressing a high level meeting of police, army and central paramilitary officers here.
The meeting was convened to discuss the security arrangements and deployment of personnel for ensuring Yatra in a befitting manner, an official spokesman said.
The DGP stressed upon the officers present in the meeting to maintain close coordination with their ranks and other security agencies to achieve better results and called for an effective mechanism and planning for smooth and peaceful conduct of the yatra, which is scheduled to commence on July 2.
Kumar, deliberating on different issues, emphasised for special focus on sensitive locations and base camps while putting in place the security arrangements. (AGENCIES)
