DGP reviews preparedness for upcoming elections

SRINAGAR, Apr 3: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh accompanied by ADGP Armed J&K, IGP Kashmir and DIG-NKR reviewed election preparedness for the upcoming general elections.
The meeting was attended by SSP Bandipora Rahul Malik, CO IRP 8th Battalion and other senior officers of District Police Bandipora and Armed Police.
SSP Bandipora gave a detailed briefing about the security measures taken by District Police Bandipora in order to ensure free and fair elections.
DGP in his address to the officers and jawans emphasized upon them to get fully prepared for the forthcoming general elections in the State. He stressed that forces on the ground should ensure that law and order is maintained during the elections, so that people could exercise their franchise without any fear.
ADGP Armed J&K SJM Gilani during his address asked the jawans to adopt citizen friendly policing, exercise maximum restraint, remain impartial and ensure rule of law, despite the challenging circumstances around. He also impressed upon them to remain extra vigilant and take all safety measures for their protection in the field.
IGP Kashmir SP Pani expressed his satisfaction on the preparedness of jawans. He assured DGP and ADGP regarding law and order preparedness displayed by the jawans. He also emphasized upon the jawans to keep co-ordination, contact, communication and act under single command effectively.
In the end, the vote of thanks was presented by DIG NKR Suleiman Chaudhary.
