DGP grants meritorious scholarship for 62 wards of serving police personnel

SRINAGAR, Sept 28: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over Rs 3.90 lakh in favour of 62 wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80 per cent and above marks in the annual examination of Class 12th during the academic session 2018-19 out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
Rs 7200 each has been sanctioned in favour of 15 students who have secured more than 90 per cent marks while 47 students who have secured 80 per cent and above marks has been given Rs 6000 each. Out of these 62 students 27 were girls.
Police Headquarters (PHQ) under different heads is annually sanctioning meritorious scholarship for police wards, qualifying different examinations with above eighty percent marks so as to promote and inculcate the spirit of competitiveness among them.
Police Headquarters has sanctioned over Rs 81,08,500 out of Central Police Education Fund to the wards of serving police personnel, wards of martyrs and SPOs during the current year for qualifying different examinations.
