KATRA, Mar 22: Director General Police, Civil Defence, Home Guards and SDRF, S Gopal Reddy took a meeting of the Civil Defence Reasi District wherein Addl SP Katra Sameer Kotwal, Dy Controller Bodh Raj,Civil Defence Chief Warden & president Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra, Rakesh Wazir, Dy Chief Warden Sardari Lal Dubey, chairman HRA Shyam Lal Kesar, former SP Jatinder Mishri etc were prominently present and discussed in detail the activities of the Civil Defence & Disaster Management in Reasi District and chalked out the future line of action.
Mr Reddy, while speaking on the occasion, said that in the event of any eventuality first few hours remain crucial where we can save maximum number of lives vis-a-vis losses as well, and in those crucial hours Civil Defence plays very important role and keeping in view of its importance even the foreign countries have made special emphasis on it. Katra Vaishnodevi being the center point of more than 1 crore visiting pilgrims every year attains a special position as for as Civil Defence and Disaster Management works are concerned and the department will leave no stone un turned for providing maximum infrastructure and support over here, he added.
Rakesh Wazir, while elaborating the necessity of the Civil Defence and Disaster Management infrastructure in Reasi, said that Katra Vaishnodevi in particular being the hub of pilgrim activity in whole India requires special emphasis on it and all the facilities in connection with the Civil Defence and Disaster management need to be provided over here including Ambulances, rescue materials, offices, Stores etc so that in event of eventuality like Utterakhand etc. losses be restricted to the minimum.
Bodh Raj briefed the people with regard to the activities and infrastructure of the Civil Defence in Reasi District.
Prominent among others, present on the occasion, include Post Warden Er Ajay Singh, HRA Sr vice president Virender Kesar, vice president Madan Aggarwal, Bhola Ram, Parbhat Singh, Shamsher Singh and Ajeet Singh.
