JAMMU, Mar 17: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DFSS) under the leadership of president Ashok Gupta today held a protest in old Jammu city against Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for the piling of heaps of garbage in the entire city.
While addressing the protesting workers, Ashok Gupta said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and he not only promoted the clean and green nation but also focused upon the uprise of the sanitation workers but on the contrary in the State of J&K the workers who clean our environment doesn’t even earn the basic salary to run their households which just represents the economic imbalance of our society.
Ashok Gupta stated that the doctors are warning that Jammu could be hit by an epidemic if there is more delay in tackling the situation. He said that the issue should be resolved with the sanitation workers and their demands should be met so that the garbage crisis can be curbed and the city can get back on track.
