JAMMU, Jan 2: Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DF&SS) held a protest demonstration against hike in the prices of the non-subsidized LPG cylinders by Rs 220.
The workers of DF&SS including women assembled at Rani Park and raised slogans against the Government. The women workers prepared food on mud stoves to lodge their protest against hike in the prices of the subsidized LPG cylinders.
Addressing the gathering, president, DF&SS Ashok Gupta said that a family requires one cylinder a month on an average and to levy of a burden of Rs 220 for each cylinder beyond six cylinders per annum is a cruel joke.
He said that affecting a hike of Rs 220 per cylinder and Rs 385 per cylinder used for commercial purposes was unprecedented and this will make life miserable for the common people.
The ruling party has no concern for the common man and that it was bothered only about filling its coffers, he alleged.
Gupta demanded early roll back of the prices hiked on the subsidized LPG cylinders at the earliest.
Among others present were Geeta Devi, Veena Devi, Bodh Raj, Sukhdev Singh, Vijay, Bantu, etc.
