SRINAGAR, Mar 2: Advisor to Governor Parvez Dewan today held public hearing wherein individual applicants and deputations called on him to seek the redressal of their grievances.
The deputations included representatives of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Joint Committee of Private Schools, temporary teachers, contractual employees, Houseboat Owners Association, drivers, doctors and various individuals.
The Advisor gave them patient hearing and directed the concerned for timely redressal of the public grievances. He assured the people that the Government is committed to their welfare and every effort will be made to bring the benefits of governance to the grassroot level.
While interacting with the representatives of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Dewan hoped that the year will bring record number of tourists to Kashmir. He directed the Tourism Department to explore the modalities for organizing mega tourist shows in Maharashtra and Gujarat for drawing more tourists from these places. He said the Tourism Department is going to organize a mega spring festival at Badamwari, Srinagar that will be an added attraction for tourists.
While interacting with a deputation of temporary teachers, Mr Dewan directed the concerned to putforth the interests of students above everything else.
Dozens of individuals also put forward their problems before Mr. Dewan.
Mr. Dewan will be receiving individual applicants and deputations at PWD Guest House, Peerbagh, Srinagar every Wednesday, except gazetted holidays, and when indicated otherwise.
