RAMNAGAR, May 31: Alleging derailment of almost all the development initiatives launched by him in Ramnagar in the past, chairman of the NPP and former MLA Ramnagar, Harsh Dev Singh today lambasted the administration for chaotic public utility services in the constituency.
He said that with people persistently clamouring over the deprivation of the basic civic amenities, Ramnagar witnessed the worst developmental inertia during the last two and a half years.
Addressing public gathering at village Sattian in Ramnagar constituency today, the Ex-MLA expressing grave concern over the pathetic development scenario in the constituency. He cautioned the authorities to take immediate corrective measures so that the basic services were restored at the earliest. He called for early restoration of defunct water supply schemes, damaged transformers, disrupted power supply lines and damaged roads.
He regretted that it took around two hours for him to cover a distance of around 15 kms on the Sattian road due to extremely pathetic condition of the road. He warned the authorities of a massive movement in Ramnagar in view of massive public uproar in case the basic facilities were not restored at the earliest.
Holding corruption as one single major factor responsible for decay and decadence of Ramnagar, Singh called upon the District Vigilance and Monitoring Wing to wake up from its slumber and to check the swindling of public funds by unscrupulous politicians-officer nexus. He regretted that with hardly any development activity discernible on the ground, the administration owed an explanation to the people for annual grants being received for developmental works in the constituency and the expenditure shown to have been incurred on papers only with no tangible sign of the same visible on the ground.
NPP leader regretted that even the Vigilance organization and SVC had shut their eyes to the huge scams worth crores of rupees during the last two years particularly in the Deptts of PWD, PMGSY, PHE and MG-NREGA. He assured the people to take up the matter at the highest level with the Chief Minister so as to mitigate their sufferings and for seeking a high level probe into all acts of omissions and commissions in the working of various departments.
