UDHAMPUR, Apr 5 : Continuing with the second phase of his uninterrupted election campaign spree, BJP candidate for Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh today undertook an extensive tour of the hilly areas of Udhampur and Reasi districts, and suggested the Government to develop an Udhampur-Reasi tourist circuit covering the spots of scenic attraction falling in the two districts. He said the area has tremendous potential not only for tourism but also for religious tourism, which has remained unexploited.
Accusing the Government of discriminatory approach, Dr Jitendra Singh said, while crores are being spent to promote tourism in Kashmir valley, spots of extraordinary natural beauty like Panchari have remained unattended and undeveloped.
Dr Jitendra Singh also referred to inadequate health and education infrastructure in the peripheral areas of district Reasi and Udhampur. It is unfortunate that inspite of the Congress party being in power both at the centre as well as in the State, people remain deprived of basic amenities of life, he added.
If BJP is voted from this Constituency, the party will strive for an exclusive Central package for the upliftment of this region and raise in Lok Sabha the issue of neglect of the area.
Describing Narendra Modi as a symbol of change, Dr Jitendra said, a vote for BJP in Udhampur Lok Sabha election will be a vote for Modi as it will add to the Modi tally of 272+.
MLA Baldev Raj Sharma assured Dr Jitendra Singh of full support from his Assembly segment and said the voting percentage this time will be all time high.
Senior leader Pawan Gupta said, the people of entire Udhampur district are solidly behind BJP and said Dr Jitendra Singh will attract votes from all communities and castes.
Pawan Khajuria described Dr Jitendra Singh as a man of organization and a man of integrity.
BJP Udhampur distt president Dinanath Bhagat and prominent party leader Jeevan Sharma also addressed the meeting.
