Sir,
Present society in India is facing dilemma in value system, beliefs, mores, folk ways etc. Present society is sharply polarized into traditional and modern sections. People belonging to the traditional set up are ethnocentric with low level of exposure to the wider world. They want to adhere to the traditional principles and show chauvinism in their behaviour.
People belonging to modern cult are exposed to scientific knowledge. They are progressive in their outlook and accept only those traditional values which stand the test of scientific logic. These people want to see clean environment, disease free society, freedom from corruption, red tapism, employment generation and ethics in overall system. They want to do away with narrow ideologies and exploitative nature of traditional institutions.
There is a dire need of inculcating scientific temper in the people regarding clean environment, population control, reproductive health, nutrition, waste management and so many such aspects. Media, N.G.O’s, teachers, doctors, lawyers, environmentalists and et.al can contribute in their own way to propagate and promote scientific culture in the society to make it ethics based.
Yours etc….
