Develop infra resources in consonance with modern tourism needs: Veeri

ANANTNAG, Aug 31: Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that development of infrastructural resources at different places is key for the management of modern tourism and also providing the tourists with all the modern related facilities.
The Minister made these remarks after laying the foundation stone of a Public Park at Halmulla Sangam in Anantnag. He was accompanied by District Development Commissioner Anantnag Muhammad Younis Malik, Director Floriculture Muhammad Hussain Mir and other officials.
He said that the Public Park will become one of the major tourist attractions on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. The Jehlum facing park will be developed on modern lines and will house a book store/ art gallery. It will also have a space to setup kiosks.
The Minister said that nature has bestowed State with beauty in abundance and it is imperative to take steps to develop tourism infrastructure.
He said that Government is working on various initiatives to cater need of tourists. He asked the officials to consult best landscape architecture for making this park one of the happening places on the highway.
Veeri said that willow of this area used for manufacturing cricket bats is famous for quality all over the world and creation of Public Park will help the willow traders to get more customers at their doorstep.
The officials informed the Minister that modern garden furniture will be setup in the park and a spacious parking facility will also be developed to cater to rush of tourists.
