Deteriorating standard of education

Sir,
The vast expansion  of education in Jammu & Kashmir lacks efficient management.  Every Tom Dick and Harry is appointed to impart education. The teacher pupil ratio is not maintained for the deliverance. There is dearth of subject teachers in almost all the schools of the State. The transfer policy of the education Deptt. does not conform with the standing rules and regulations of the department. Favouritism and nepotism continue at all levels. There is no check on private coaching centres which jeopardise the poise of the system. Long vacations plus rampant closing of schools in the State has adversely damaged the learning teaching process in the schools.  Copying in exams is a dangerous trend. In olden days a teacher was commanding the highest esteem because of the fact he was truly devoted and dedicated to the job. Today things are different. The pious relationship between a teacher and his student has gone away.  The trust between the two has  shaken today.  Now-a-days we find absence of institutional planning in the schools which used to be guiding principle in the growth of school. Punctuality  among the staff and the students is not adhered strictly at present in the schools of the State. In order to raise the standard of education good teachers are needed in the State.
Yours etc…
