UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: Senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra has strongly condemned alleged undemocratic arrest of Congress leaders of J&K State, including PCC President GA Mir, Ex Minister Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesman Ravinder Sharma and Ex PYC State President Pranab Shagotra.
While addressing a press conference, here today, Sumeet Magotra said that the nation was passing through a dismal period of the history and the integration of the country was on stake. “Arrest of Congress leaders in the State is totally undemocratic and unconstitutional,” he said and lambasted Governor’s administration for illegal detention of Congress leaders.
Magotra said it was unfortunate that Union Government of India has adopted dictatorial attitude. Commenting on the present situation, he demanded full statehood for J&K and job security for the local youth in wake of abrogation of Article 370. He suggested that no locals need to reside for at least 15 years in the State to be entitled to purchase property.
