RAMBAN, Apr 14: Authorities here today intensified a multi-agency search for the man who allegedly fell into a rivulet after allegedly chased by some miscreants.
A Special Investigation Team has been constituted and four people have been detained so far.
Some locals alleged that load carrier driver Tanveer Ahmad Chopan, 25, a resident of Mundkhal Pogal in Ukhral Tehsil was chased by some persons as bovine animals were allegedly loaded in his vehicle.
In a bid to escape from the chasers he fell into the rivulet Nallah Bishlari.
After the overnight halt, the search operation resumed on Tuesday morning, with teams from the Police, SDRF and NDRF, along with local volunteers, focusing on the many large boulders scattered across the stream amid apprehensions that the body may be trapped beneath them but the missing man remained untraced.
Many relatives of the missing man also joined the search operation, while others were camping along the banks of the stream, anxiously keeping vigil and hoping for his early recovery as efforts continue for the third day.
Police and district administration have urged the public to maintain calm and cooperate the authorities.
