Srinagar, Jan 24: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DESK) today terminated a teacher who managed to obtain a fake appointment order and was working in the department for the last 13 years.
As per an order issued here by the DSEK, a copy of which is lying with Excelsior, it said that the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Srinagar vide letter dated 22-11-2022 reported that the service book of the teacher who has been named as Hilal Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh R/o Trappy Beerwah District Budgam working as a teacher in Boys High School Barthana District Srinagar reveal an entry to the effect that he has been appointed as a teacher after being selected by the J&K Service Selection Board Srinagar.
The order stated that to ascertain the genuineness of his appointment order, the original appointment order issued by this Directorate vide No. 491-DSEK of 2009 dated 12-06-2009 and the selection list issued by the J&K Service Selection Board were verified and it has been found that his name does not figure anywhere in the original appointment order nor the original select list of JKSSB;
“The dispatch No CEO/Estt/Apptt/2009/9853-55 dated 06-07-2009 mentioned in his posting order pertains to the posting order issued in favour of Lalit Kumari and Madhu Bala respectively.”
The DSEK said that the delinquent teacher was placed under suspension and attached to this Directorate vide this office order dated 06-12-2022. “The delinquent teacher failed to report in this Directorate, in compliance with the ibid order; the matter was enquired into by the Joint Director (Central) who has conducted an in-depth enquiry.”
The order stated that the inquiry reported that the appointment order shown to have been issued in favour of the concerned “is fake/forged and he has managed his entry in the department by producing fake appointment order, therefore deceiving the authorities, while drawing illegal wages from Government exchequer.”
DSEK said that the delinquent teacher has been served upon show cause notice by the Directorate to which he responded and submitted a reply dated: 10-01-2023 through speed post which was thoroughly examined and found devoid of merit for reconsideration.
“Keeping in view the above facts, the appointment order purportedly issued in favour of Hilal Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh R/o Trappy Beerwah District Budgam being not issued by this Directorate is treated to be null and void and non-est in the eyes of law.”
The DESK directed that any benefit derived out of the said fake order shall be immediately recovered and criminal proceedings are initiated against the said person.
