Deputy CM for judicious utilization of resources

SRINAGAR, Aug 30:  Rs 1.22 crore are being spent on different developments works at Tangmarg and Kunzar Municipal Committees during current financial year while construction of Municipal Committee sub office at Gulmarg and re-construction of gypsy huts would be completed  by this year.
This was stated by the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand while reviewing the progress of current year’s proposed project of Tangmarg and Kunzar Municipal Committees at a meeting held here today.
Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Suresh Kumar, Director Urban Local Bodies, Shamim Ahmad Laherwal  besides officers from Tangmarg and Kunzar Municipal Committees were present on the occasion.
Emphasizing on creation of revenue generating resources, the Deputy Chief Minister instructed concerned officers to utilize all available resources and funds judiciously and ensure that income of both the committees is increased.
Asking for maintaining of committee assets lying at different locations, Mr Tara Chand asked the officers to start the auction process of shops constructed at Craft Village in Kunzar, which can generate recurring revenue for the committee.
It was given out that 80 per cent work on sub office Municipal Committee Tangmarg and reconstruction of gypsy huts at Gulmarg costing Rs 37.10 lakh has been completed and executing agency has been asked to speed up the work to ensure their completion by this year.
The meeting was informed that macadamization of Tangmarg bus stand, costing Rs 67 lakh, would be started shortly while Rs 30 lakh have been earmarked  for macadamization of Kunzar bus stand during this fiscal.
