JAMMU, Jan 4: A deputation of Sanatan Dharam (S.D.) Sabha School, Rehari, Jammu, led by S.D. Sabha’s President, Jagdish Dogra, called on Governor N. N. Vohra, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Among others the deputation comprised Prof. B.R Sharma, President, Management Committee of the S.D. Sabha School.
The deputation apprised the Governor about the progress regarding the extensive up gradation of the school’s infrastructure which has been supported by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in the past three years.
The Sabha delegation requested the Governor for further support to get the school resume its erstwhile reputation and contribution to the education system. The Governor urged the Sabha President to take pro-active steps to get the school going and further support would also be considered.
K.K. Gandhi, renowned artist also called on Governor and briefed him about the initiatives taken by him for promotion of visual and other art forms in the State. They discussed steps required to bring enhanced exposure to the artists from the State.
Rangil Singh, President J&K Olympic Association (JKOA), and Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Hon. General Secretary JKOA called on Governor N.N Vohra.
Mr. Singh briefed the Governor about the need to enlarge the sports infrastructure in the State and to increase the facilities and support which need to be provided to young sportsmen and sportswomen. He also pointed to the support required for the upcoming sports events being organized by the Olympic Association.
The Governor complimented the President and Gen. Secy. of JKOA for their missionary efforts for inculcating sports spirit among youth and agreed to participate in a function being organized by JKOA to honour the Youth who won medals at the National Games in 2015.
