RAJOURI, Sept 22: The Income Tax Department today organised one day workshop to acquaint Drawing and Disbursing Officers of various departments about the changes introduced in the procedure of Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) and Tax Collection at Source (TCS).
The experts from the Income Tax Department guided the participants regarding the online issuance of Form 16, Form 16A and Form 26AS through TIN website. Detailed discussion was also held on the procedure to obtain AIN number and e-Filing of 24G by PAO /CDDO/TO.
Income Tax Officer Jammu, I.S.Chawla was the chief guest on the occasion.
The chief guest highlighted the importance of the knowledge regarding the TDS/TCS for all the tax deductors and collectors.
While interacting with the Drawing and Disbursing Officers of the district, the Income Tax Officer stressed upon them to update themselves about various Government orders and circulars issued from time to time regarding tax deduction.
“Due to the ignorance of knowledge regarding the tax deductions at the source and the tax collection at the source the purpose of the tax deduction is not fulfilled”, he asserted and asked the participants to have detailed knowledge regarding the latest development /changes in this regard.
The experts gave detailed replies to the queries raised by Drawing and Disbursing Officers regarding the problem, being faced by them in deduction /deposit of TDS/TCS and filing of their e-TDS statement.
Mumtaz Choudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Pawan Kumar Sharma, District Treasury Officer Rajouri, Fareed Ahmed, Additional Treasury Officer besides Drawing and Disbursing Officers of various departments attended the seminar.
