Underscores district admin’s commitment for conducting smooth, fair & transparent elections
PULWAMA, APRIL 15: The District Election Officer (DEO) Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom Monday chaired a pivotal meeting with Nodal Officers to assess and enhance preparedness for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The comprehensive review delved into various crucial aspects, including transportation arrangements for polling staff and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), training protocols for polling personnel, effective functioning of control rooms, welfare measures for polling parties, streamlined complaint redressal mechanisms through the control room, establishment of voter facilitation centers, delineation of micro observer duties, formulation of home voting schedules, and webcasting arrangements.
Additionally, meticulous planning was undertaken regarding the route chart for home voting, along with the implementation of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) and Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The DEO delineated the specific tasks and responsibilities entrusted to the Nodal Officers, emphasizing the need for exemplary dedication and diligence in executing their duties.
Dr Basharat impressed for proactive engagement and meticulous execution of assigned tasks on the ground. Furthermore, all Nodal Officers were urged to familiarize themselves comprehensively with the guidelines provided by the ECI pertaining to their roles and responsibilities during the electoral period.
He underscored the district’s commitment to conducting smooth, fair, and transparent elections.
The meeting was attended by ADC Pulwama, and all AROs besides all nodal officers for General Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
