JAMMU, Mar 8: District Election Officer Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for smooth and fair conduct of elections.
Stressing on the need for strict vigil and monitoring to ensure complete adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, Mr. Sahu directed the concerned designated officers to maintain close liaison.
He asked the concerned AROs to chalk out a comprehensive training programme for the functionaries and keep them aware about the guidelines issued by the Election Commission.
He said that the videography teams should be monitoring the entire process and submits a report on daily basis.
It was informed in the meeting that the permission for organizing a rally and identified spot will be only for 24 hrs while as permission for booking of guest houses will be only for 48 hours as per the charges applicable.
DEO informed that the general public, contesting candidates and members of political parties can seek any information pertaining to elections or register their grievances on the Toll Free No. 18001807062.
Among others, EROs, Zonal Magistrates, AEROs, besides officers from Video Surveillance team, officers from MCMC were also present.
